Brews for Shoes
Brews for Shoes is a Best First Day fundraiser. We are raising money to purchase new shoes for school-age children to have their very best first day of school! Come on down to have some fun and purchase raffle tickets. Then hop across the street into Associated Sales and Leasing’s parking lot to get some yummy snacks from SOBO food cart and Biggby Coffee!
Empty Bowls 2024
Since 2011, Empty Bowls has been the primary fundraising event for Soup or Socks. But Empty Bowls is more than a fundraiser. It helps raise awareness about hunger in our community by reminding participants that “somewhere, someone’s bowl is empty.”
Empty Bowls has brought people together from all over our community to create bowls, donate soup, or volunteer at the event. It has also enlightened all who attend through education about community needs and how Soup or Socks provides assistance.
The first Marshfield Area Empty Bowls event to benefit SOS was held in February 2012. Since then, Empty Bowls has raised almost $100,000 to help cover costs at Soup or Socks.
United We Can
Join Marshfield Area United Way in supporting local food pantries! Participate in the "United We Can" sculpture contest and submit your building creations to United Way by March 15. Voting will take place from March 19-22, and the winners will be announced on March 26.
Best Snow Day
Best Snow Day provides snow pants, boots, and winter pajamas to families within our service area. Registration opens Sept 15 - Oct 6, and we are not accepting any registrations after noon. Children must be present to take home boots.
Bag and Bake Sale
Soup or Socks will be having a ONE DAY ONLY Bag sale. $5 for a brown grocery bag. Clothing, household items and books+. Proceeds will be used to fund Best Snow Day in November. We will also have a Bake Sale at this event and a chili lunch will be available from 11am to 1pm for $5 per person. Bag Sale will be held in the gym of First Presbyterian Church at 200 S. Lincoln. Volunteers will be needed for set up on Thursday September 28, Friday September 29 for the sale and Saturday September 30 for clean up. Best First Day
Best First Day helps area students with back to school clothing and shoe needs. Volunteers will be needed for set up on August 9th. Distribution on August 10th and clean up on August 10th at the end of the day.
Brew For Shoes
Come and join us at Jack’s Bar 317 Central Ave in Marshfield for this fundraiser for Best First Day. 25% of sales will be donated to purchase new shoes for students heading back to school in the fall. Karoke will start at 7:30pm and there will be a 50/50 raffle. Best First Day helps over 100 area students with Back to School clothing and shoes.
Hunger Action Month
September is Hunger Action Month! Wear Orange on September 23rd for Hunger Action Day and consider donating some very much needed items to our pantry. As Dr. Seuss wrote, “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
Marshfield Area Empty Bowls
Plan to join us at Hotel Marshfield on Saturday March 12, 2022. The event this year will run from 10am to 1pm. We will offer drive thru and TO GO options. There will be no dine in this year, due to Covid-19 protocols. You may come inside to pick up soup and select a handcrafted bowl. Raffle prizes can be viewed and tickets purchased inside. All soup will be packed in pint containers and will be cold for you to take home and enjoy later in the weekend. Tickets are $10 each.
Winter Wonderland
Volunteers will be needed weekly to sort and pack donations. Days and times are flexible depending on donations received.
Best First Day
Distribution Day for Best First Day for 2021. This event provides area school children with new clothing for the start of the school year. Our mission is to help students have their BEST FIRST DAY! Multiple volunteer opportunities are available for this event. Donations needed of NEW clothing, socks, shoes and undergarments.
Brat Fry sponsored by Marshfield Area Apartment Associtation
What is better on a busy Friday than grabbing a freshly grilled Brat! Marshfield Area Apartment Association is having a Brat Fry on August 6, 2021. Proceeds benefit Soup or Socks. Stop by and get some lunch or dinner and support this event. Soup or Socks appreciates your support!
Stone Press Food Truck Give Back Day
Stone Press Food Truck will be at the Weiler Convenience Store on North Central Avenue in Marshfield with their amazing food. Donations from sales will be donated to Soup or Socks. Soup or Socks will also be on hand with a shopping cart, ready to fill for Best First Day! Hope to see you there!
Marshfield Area Empty Bowls
The Marshfield Area Empty Bowls committee is in process of planning the event for 2021. We will be following all CDC guidelines for the safety of our guests and volunteers.

Soup or Socks will be closed for service and donations on these days.
Clothes Closet Holiday Hours
The Clothes Closet will be closed this week for the holidays. It will reopen on January 5. 2021.
Food Sorting
The Food sorting is ongoing and depends on the amount of food we receive. It is best to call Soup or Socks at 715-387-1796 to check to see if volunteers are needed.
