Marshfield Area Empty Bowls
More Than A Fundraiser
Since 2011, Empty Bowls has been the primary fundraising event for Soup or Socks. But Empty Bowls is more than a fundraiser. It helps raise awareness about hunger in our community by reminding participants that “somewhere, someone’s bowl is empty.”
Empty Bowls has brought people together from all over our community to create bowls, donate soup, or volunteer at the event. It has also enlightened all who attend through education about community needs and how Soup or Socks provides assistance.
The first Marshfield Area Empty Bowls event to benefit SOS was held in February 2012. Since then, Empty Bowls has raised almost $100,000 to help cover costs at Soup or Socks.
How Empty Bowls Comes Together:
Artists and students create beautiful bowls for the event. Members of the committee make presentations to the students and share results so they can see how their efforts make a difference. Hotel Marshfield is our venue, and we appreciate their generous support of our event. Soups are donated by area restaurants and raffle prizes are created and donated by individuals, groups, and businesses. And it all comes together for a fun-filled, jam-packed three hours on the second Saturday in March.
2025 Marshfield Area Empty Bowls
BIG CHANGES! This year’s Marshfield Area Empty Bowls will be held at the Eagle’s Club in Marshfield.
How will it work? This year will be dine-in only. Guests will be able to choose their soup, a ceramic keepsake bowl, and enter to win some great raffle prizes.
What day and time is the event? The event will be on Saturday March 8, 2025. It will run from 11am to 2pm or until all soup is gone.

How much is the soup? Tickets will be $12 for a standard 12oz cup of soup. We will be offering the option of a 12oz cup of soup PLUS a flight of 3 additional soups for $17.

What about raffle baskets? Are you looking to donate towards the raffle? There’s a few different ways to do that!
1. You can donate a whole, ready to go raffle. This could look like a beautiful basket tied up in ribbon filled with a themed donation, such as grilling, summer kids toys, or a movie night.
2. You could bring in themed items and SOS would place them in a basket and tie it up in a bag to ensure all the pieces stay together.
3. You could bring in an item or two that we could put with other donated items to create a finished basket.
We ask that you specify which option you are choosing when you drop off the donated item(s).
